It was a spectacular Sunday of fundraising at Rock Wall Wine Company for Alameda Meals on Wheels. There was the requisite wine tasting, eating great local food, enjoying local cuisine, bidding on an amazing array of auction items, and most of all, hobnobbing with other Alamedans looking to support a good cause.
AEC Living/Elders Village hosted another successful talk at the Alameda Free Library on Wednesday, June 15th. The hot topic was How to Navigate Senior Housing Options.
The Zimmerman family and AEC Living have been longtime sponsors and donors to The DreamCatcher Youth Shelter. On Saturday, May 21st, AEC Living attended a fundraiser honoring Dwayne Chenevet’s 16 years of service, support, and inspiration to the Shelter kids.
We stepped out, and stepped up, once again, to support one of our local Alameda charities! A benefit for Alameda’s Midway Shelter for Women and Children was held at the Elk’s Lodge Rathskeller on Saturday evening, April 2nd. This year’s event honored Tony DeSimone who founded the event 25 years ago!
AEC Living is on the town again! On Saturday, March 26th, the Alameda Firefighters IAFF Local 689 and the Alameda Education Association (AEA) held a Crab Feed to benefit Alameda Family Service’s DreamCatcher Homeless Youth Shelter, and Alameda Point Collaborative.
We are at it again! AEC Living is out in the community taking an active roll in our city’s nonprofits. On Saturday, March 19th we attended the Girls Inc of the Island City, Women Who Dare, 17th Annual Awards Luncheon at the Oakland Hilton. The event celebrated several exceptional women and teens.
The Zimmerman’s hosted AEC Living employees at the 31st Annual Alameda Boys & Girls Club Gala. The Alameda Boys & Girls Club is more than just a place for recreation. They provide activities and experiences that enrich the lives of young people in our community.
Isadora Alman, a renowned sex therapist spoke with a group of attendees in a very frank and active discussion on sex, changes in our bodies as we age, communication, and relationships at an Elders Village seminar held at the Alameda Free Library on February 17th. Here’s what you missed!
Elders Inn residents took a walk over to Alameda Fire Station #2 to deliver a thank you gift of home baked cookies to our brave fire fighters. Each year, on September 11th, Elders Inn participates in recognizing first responders in honor of those whose lives were lost and the courageous men and women who jumped onto action, with their only focus being to save lives, on September 11, 2001.
