Safari Dinner at The Lodge

The drums were beating as the safari guides began pouring wine. It was a fabulous start to this month’s World Tour dinner as we listened to the sound of African Drum Masters and enjoyed a glass of South African wine or ginger beer before dinner. Since we spent the month of April exploring the continent of Africa, our dinner was safari themed and the foods we indulged in from the many corners of the continent.

Lodge Residents Visit Oakland’s African American Museum and Library

On April, 20th, residents from the Lodge took a trip to Oakland’s African American Museum and Library to explore the current exhibit on Heroines of the Civil Rights Movement. Walking around the exhibit brought back a lot of memories & even refreshed everyone’s minds of what went on during this period in time.

Festival of Color at The Lodge

Our Holi Social, to honor the Festival of Colors celebrated throughout India and Nepal was a splash of fun! Meant as an homage to the traditional Indian celebration, our social included as many different colors as we could manage; from multiple colors of tablecloths and hand made paper centerpieces to colorful mock cocktails and hand painted cookies.
