English Pub at The Lodge

World Tour – British Isles

This month on our World Tour we’ve been exploring the British Isles and our English Pub Dinner was a evening to remember. We were transported to the United Kingdom for an evening of authentic “pub grub”.  We began with a trio of starters: Welsh Rarebit, London Particular Soup, and Cucumber Dill Salad. For entrees, we had our choice of Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, and Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding. What fun is a pub without some good British ale? Newcastle was a particular favorite, while the more adventurous enjoyed a Boddingtons. Then we concluded the evening with a light and delicious trifle.

The World Tour is a program we have been developing for over 20 years. Through this program, each month we focus on exploring different cultures and peoples from around the world. The World Tour dives into an exploration of food, music, and history of the various regions of our beautiful planet through lunch outings, special performers, parties, documentaries, trivia, and concludes with a specially themed dinner event. The World Tour Dinners are an interesting and delicious way for us all to try different foods from the region of the world we are exploring each month.
