Alameda Elders Services Open House

 
Alameda Elder Services (AES) threw open the doors and welcomed the community last Thursday with raffle prizes, refreshments and senior fitness tests.
Therapist, trainers and wellness coordinators were on hand to explain the benefits of AES senior-focused services including Medicare-approved therapy and customized one-on-one personal training.

Monte Carlo Night at Waters Edge Lodge

Cards, poker chips, dice and roulette wheels were flying at Waters Edge Lodge at Monte Carlo Night as Lodge residents and their guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening on Wednesday, September 25th.  A Frank Sinatra lookalike crooned ballads while residents danced and tried their luck at the Lodge “casino’.

Time for Flu Shots

Alameda Elder Communities’ residents and staff are getting their flu shots this week.  The 2013-2014 Flu Season runs from October to May, peaking in January and February.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), adults 65 years and older are at greater risk of serious complications from the flu compared with young, healthy adults.
