Safe In Person Visits Now Possible
New guidelines for visits, both inside and outside!
You have probably heard that Alameda County will be going to the Red Tier under the Blue Print for a Safe Economy as of today. With the moving to the Red Tier, we will be publishing new guidelines for visitations, for both inside and outside visitations.
Our nursing staff has completed training on the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card.
By appointment, we will be able to do the nasal swabbing on family/friends who wish to come visit residents in their private apartments. Or, you may give the nurse a copy of your Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours of your planned visit. At this time, each COVID-19 test is only valid for 2 days.
The BinaxNOW test takes about 20 minutes to perform and read. A negative result would allow you to visit in a resident’s apartment or other private areas in the community. Of course, a positive result would require us to report to the designated agency. There will be a nominal charge for the test of $8.00 per test. For the first test we will need to have a couple forms completed, we can send them electronically or they could be completed onsite.
Masks and social distancing are still required in all common areas. If you have been double vaccinated and have passed the 14 day immunization period, you may visit a resident in non-communal areas, without a COVID test. You will need to submit proof of vaccination to the Nurse, and you will need to complete our COVID-19 screening form upon every visit.
We are in an adjustment period; things will change, and we will notify you when updates or changes occur. If you have any questions, please write me at darnelle@aecliving.com and I will try and answer your questions and concerns.
