Chinese New Year Happy Hour was spectacular! The Decorations transported us to the far East. The tables were carefully put together with fun facts about the holiday, red envelopes filled chocolate coins, and holiday word searches were placed at each setting. Our entertainment was from our local Alameda Jiu Jitsu company featuring Master Sergio Silva and his talented associate Robert Williamson. The demonstration captivated our residents. I wish you could have seen the amazement on their faces and the oohs and aaahhs they expressed. Don’t let me forget the delicious food Barbara cooked and her beautiful presentation on each plate. It was like a piece of art. One of our Asian residents was so touched by the event, he suddenly got out of his seat and proceeded to tell us how scared he was when he first arrived here, but found the kindness from our residents & staff to help him get over his fears and feel at home. Everyone was so moved by his honesty. It put a sweet touch to end our joyful event! Happy New Years everyone, may it be healthy, happy, and prosperous to us all!
