Chinese New Year Dinner at Elders Inn

Chinese New Year was on Monday, February 8th. Here, at Elders Inn, we celebrated on Tuesday the 9th with a festive dinner, inviting friends and family to join in on the action! Each dining room was beautifully decorated with Chinese lanterns, red and gold table settings, and each resident had a sign to hold, displaying their own specific Chinese zodiac sign. David Ballerini, the administrator at Elders Inn, went around to each dining room, spreading the joy of Chinese New Year! He talked about all the characteristics of each Chinese zodiac animal, which created much laughter from the residents and their families, who know their parents all too well! Some of the similarities were uncanny! With peaceful Chinese music playing in the background, served for dinner was egg flour soup, white rice, stir-fry vegetables, and mouth-watering sweet and sour pork. Dessert was a bowl of refreshing green tea ice cream followed by the traditional fortune cookie! It was lovely to see all the residents and their loved ones, sharing their fortunes with one another, smiles filling each room! A big thank you to everyone who came to the dinner party, hope to see you all again next Chinese New Year!
