Toys for Tots at Elders Inn
Our own Activities Coordinator, Nancy R., wrote this year’s Toys for Tots posting for Elders Inn. ‘Tis the season to give, and Elders Inn went all out this year! Not one, but TWO boxes of toys were filled this year!

On December 13th, high school students from Nea Community Learning Center came to Elders Inn to sing Christmas carols in Spanish.
On Saturday, December 10th, Elders Inn had a nice visit from Marcie Brown and her students from the Alameda Cello Academy. They serenaded us with beautiful classical music and classic Christmas tunes. Marcie, her daughter, and her students are so talented!
Our lunch outing to Café Jolie was a real treat. Just think, in our neighborhood a few blocks away, we can be transported to France at Café Jolie.
Students from Maya Lin School’s LEAPS Program surprised our residents with Thanksgiving cheer. They gave our residents cards and pretty, decorated gift bags.
Yesterday, at Elders Inn, we held a Flu Shot Raffle for our staff, who were committed to staying healthy by getting their flu shots. Those who did, were entered in a cash drawing. 3 prizes were given out
Our Las Vegas Bingo Night was fantastic! We had a great turnout. Our residents were ready at the mark, with their Bingo markers as the numbers were drawn!
At Elders Inn, we recently held our very first talent show! Who knew we had such a talented group of people living and working at Elders Inn?! We had singers from various communities singing “Moon River,” “Moon Shadow,” “You Belong to Me,” and “New York, New York.”
We had another fun day at Elders Inn! We had the privilege to deliver fresh baked cookies to our local firefighters at the Alameda Fire Station #2 on Pacific Avenue, in honor of Fire Prevention Week.
This week we are celebrating Public Power Week with Alameda Municipal Power and their representatives from Alameda Green. They were there to recognize local businesses that are part of this wonderful program and educate the public and Elders Inn is one of those businesses.
