Alameda Seniors Luau at the Lodge
In what has become a regular start to the summer season for residents at AEC Living, Alameda seniors Luau at the Lodge happened on Thursday, June 25th.
Leis and hula skirts, teriyaki chicken, pulled pork, coconut shrimp, and pineapple upside down cake, brought the tropics to the Lodge, where Alameda seniors enjoyed this year’s luau. Swaying dancers and delightful music mesmerized the audience as Hui Hula o na Pu’u i ka Noe performed.
Hui Hula o na PU’u i ka Noe (“Hula group of the hills in the mist”) has performed for us more than once, and every time the dancers are friendly, the show is fabulous, and the entire luau is a huge success. This event was part of June’s World Tour as we explored the Pacific Islands.
The World Tour Program
The World Tour is a program we have been developing for over 20 years. Through this program, each month we focus on exploring different cultures and peoples from around the world. The World Tour dives into an exploration of food, music, and history of the various regions of our beautiful planet through lunch outings or special meals, performers, parties, documentary studies, and trivia.
The Activities Team at the Lodge strives to provide our residents with a varied and entertaining monthly calendar, to see our current calendar please click here.
