4/30/2020 COVID-19 Update

There are still no residents or staff members with symptoms or a diagnosis of COVID-19.

We are monitoring daily and taking extreme precautions with staff and residents to limit our community’s exposure to the virus. We remain at risk level ORANGE.

Community Updates:

  • We are working with the US Census to ensure a precise count of Residents for the 2020 Census. The original plan of counting is no longer viable so we are adapting and changing the plan.
  • Zoom and window visits have been going really well, and we are hearing from many Residents and their Families that each visit brightens their day. If you would like help scheduling a meeting please reach out and we will make sure to schedule it with you and your family member.
  • We are continually monitoring the COVID-19 county numbers, and any policy changes, and will adjust our precautions as recommended by our various regulatory agencies. Throughout this event, we are reminding everyone to consider their own risk; stay home and stay safe.
  • Waters Edge Lodge has updated the procedure for ordering meals.  Residents can order their meals up to a week in advance and make their choices with a form deliverd to their rooms.  This change has been running smoothly so far and has helped ensure residents have more options to choose from.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime please call and speak with the onsite manager, for the Elders Inn please call 510-521-9200 and for Waters Edge Lodge please call 510-748-4300.

Care packages, handwritten letters, postcards and printed photos sent in the mail are great ways to stay connected.

Taking the time to write a handwritten note or sending your family members their favorite snack or gift in the mail is another way to show that you are thinking of them. Letter writing may open up new ways to communicate and connect to people in your life.
