Veterans’ Ball at The Lodge
On Thursday, November 10th, The Lodge’s residents and their guests honored our community’s veterans and celebrated Veterans’ Day with our annual Veterans’ Ball. Residents and guests danced through the evening which was kicked off with a ceremony conducted by our local U.S. Coast Guard Color Guard.
The Explorers Lounge and the Catalina Dining Room, were transformed with patriotic decor into a dance hall for the event. Delicious desserts, including hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries, pretzel sticks, cookies and petite brownies frosted in red, white and blue were served along with beverages including red, white and blue inspired punch.
Entertainment was provided by the Jim Franz & Jan Nichols Band, accompanied at times, by our own Director of Community Affairs & Education, Kathy Moehring, a resident favorite! Residents who served were honored by their respective branches, as were spouses, who were also acknowledged for their sacrifice and services.
In the days following, our residents have not stopped complimenting staff on what a wonderful event it was.
Thank you to all Veterans for your service for this country!
