Two Lodge residents were awarded honorable mention commendations in the recent “Why I love my Alameda home” poster contest.
The Lodge at Harbor Bay hosted an ice cream social for Lodge residents and their friends and family on Saturday, September 12th to celebrate Grandparents’ Day 2015. Alameda’s own Tucker’s Ice Cream was served and enjoyed by everyone who attended.
The roulette wheel spun and poker chips were won when Lodge residents and their guests enjoyed a night of casino games on August 13th. A Dean Martin entertainer sang hits from the 50’s and 60’s while AEC Living staff manned the tables as dealers
An audience of seniors living at The Lodge at Harbor Bay heard AEC Living COO Stephen Zimmerman talk about the positive health effects of socializing with others. Stephen, who holds a graduate degree in Gerontology from USC, spoke on July 8th as part of the Elders Village Talks series.
The enchanting music of American composers filled the evening air along the Harbor Bay lagoon as the Urquhart Memorial Concert Band played on July 1st for The Lodge residents and their friends and families. Compositions by Henry Mancini, Irving Berlin and songs from Elvis Presley and other U.S. greats delighted the audience who joined the band in song for “God Bless America”.
In what has become a regular start to the summer season for residents at AEC Living, Alameda seniors Luau at the Lodge happened on Thursday, June 25th.
Residents of The Lodge at Harbor Bay were serenaded by the energetic music styling of Mrs. Linney’s kindergarten class as they joyfully ended the school year. Lodge residents and the kindergartners’ parents and teachers all had a marvelous time!
We at AEC Living started honoring the men in our lives a bit early this year. Celebrations abounded ~ on Saturday, June 6th at The Lodge and then on Sunday, June 7th at Elders Inn, residents and their guests enjoyed early summer BBQs and the company of good men and good friends.
