Marie Lagasca-Cruz is the Administrator of Waters Edge Lodge and a graduate of Cal State East Bay, with a Bachelors of Science in Health Administration and Management. The first grandchild in her family to graduate college in the States, Marie immediately put her degree to work by accepting a position in the medical field.

Marie was first introduced to AEC Living when she was working as a licensed Pharmacy Technician at the local CVS Pharmacy next door to Waters Edge Lodge. It was here that she first got to know some of the residents; she enjoyed talking to them and hearing how comfortable and warm they found life at the Lodge.

After graduating college, Marie wanted to work in a community that took pride in delivering excellent care services to the elderly. She thought she wanted to work for a nursing home but was encouraged to work at an assisted living facility by her patients. Marie began her career with AEC  Living in 2014 as Med-Aide assisting residents with their daily medication, ordering medications from the pharmacy, and assisting the nurse with any task given by them. After several months she was promoted to the position of Associate Administrator. She was placed on a two year training position and received a lot of experience with office work and management. She worked closely with Stephen Zimmerman as a facility weekend supervisor while doing facility staff scheduling and payroll.

After completing her Residential Care Facility for Elderly license in California, she proudly assumed the position of Administrator at Waters Edge Lodge. This opportunity allowed her to better appreciate the the sense of trust residents must have in their Administrator.

In 2018, Marie moved from the Lodge to Elders Inn and enjoyed her time there; learning more about the staff and residents of that specialized community.

In 2023, Marie returned to the Lodge, ready to bring her special skills back to her original home base.
