6/1/2020 Update

Our country is facing a tragic time. People and communities across our nation are grieving the death of George Floyd and the many visible acts of racial injustice.

During this most difficult time our hearts grieve with  you all. When we experience loss in our lives, grief and anger are two sides of the same coin.

In response to the current events we are taking extra steps to support all of our residents and staff. Our Administrators and managers are making sure we check in with all of our team members everyday to make sure they feel supported and safe. We are working to make sure that they feel safe to come to work, while at work, and going home.

During the mandatory curfew in the city of Alameda, one way we can show our solidarity and support the well-being our residents and care team is by having our company’s leadership stay overnight in the buildings.

Stephen Zimmerman, COO, Enrique Ramos, Administrator of Waters Edge Lodge, and Sarah Vance, Administrator of AEC Home Care, will be staying overnight at the Waters Edge Lodge.

Lauren Zimmerman Cook, CEO, and Chris Zimmerman, the founder of the company, are staying the night at the Elders Inn.

We care about the health and well being of our residents and want you to know we are doing everything we can to keep them safe.

Please be safe.

There are no residents or staff members with symptoms or a diagnosis of COVID-19.

We are monitoring daily and taking extreme precautions with staff and residents to limit our community’s exposure to the virus. Our risk level remains at ORANGE. All policies and precautions remain in affect.

The numbers of new COVID-19 cases in Alameda County and the City of Alameda have increased over the last week. We continue to monitor this ongoing concern, as well as the fact that other counties are in the process of scaling back their restrictions. Our staff remains diligent in their efforts to limit exposure to our residents and staff.

We still have a solid supply of PPE needed to keep our residents and staff safe.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime please call and speak with the onsite manager.
