Read moreOver the weekend the residents and families of Elders Inn celebrated the winter holidays with a day full of parties. Santa joined the Garden Neighborhood residents and guests for a special luncheon, and then moved upstairs to celebrate with a tea party!
Santa danced the night away at the annual Holiday Party at Waters Edge Lodge on December 12th. Lodge residents, their families and guests enjoyed music by Kelly Park and his band as they played Christmas classics and dance tunes while toasting the holidays. Alameda Elder Communities wish a joyful holiday to all!

With the drop in temperature, there is an increase in hypothermia in seniors. Hypothermia is a condition where the body temperature dips too low. More than half of hypothermia-related deaths were of people over the age of 65. So don’t let indoor temperatures go too low, not below 65 degrees. Dress in layers, wear warm clothing, and when going outside include a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
